an empurple dream in colours of multiplicity.

what a trip! at least a back-breaking fiveteen hour-drive from south-east london to la, indeed la in bavarian. an as far as possible well-unknown but highly talented british gang of four, who did their first guest performance in germany ever.

first of all let me tell one thing music lovers. every high-levelled bandgroup mostly more or less stand and fall with a unique leadsinger`s voice. i dream in colour met this claim on that score adequate. the organ of richard judge fluctuates a lot between a handful of songs. within "fourteen" with its damped-acoustic intro richard judge snivelled in true old fashioned brit-style reminding a reverse strong-voiced richard ashcroft clone. "get along" took the same line. Richards sustained "i won`t let you down" evokes a less brute brotherhood with muse`s matt bellamy. and again: this vocal chameleon changes once more. "if you"`s airy melancholic guitar accords hugged his splendid weeping words effortlessly. cheerless fine!

by "finding the courage" peter judge`s drums, michael thackeray`s guitars and steve daniel`s bass reflated the performance straight over again and came vociferous to the fore. not only the band`s pulse rate increased clear-cut. shoulders, toes and knees, i`m 36 degrees! not only the body temperature vibrated. the impuls per se was huge. the musical output collapsed amongst his finest pure plantation. warmness ripped into midmost heart short beneath that fever chart. as warmly airstreams would fluidized as a spindrift in your face. it simmered and flared like in a boiler room to went a little over the top. as if the band had understood, they snatched even that nameable style-forming piece away from their intruments: "the boiler room" flooded from the bottom of one`s heart. an empurple dream in colours of multiplicity! a buttom-up slow-going galopping percussion rhythm and restrained but tailer-made guitar tunes surrounded richard judge`s brilliant vocal organ during i dream in colour`s encore. captivating. touching. hyptnotic.

afar towards the regular concert - perhaps maybe more than one hour - richard sat down on the house piano for a mesmerizing 2nd encore watched by a fistful people, who still hang around the bar and were all lunatic suprised. what happened the next few minutes made the whole entrance fee worthwile at one go. lonesome behind his piano covering he snivelled his lyrical stories out to the world, emotion nearly was a too fragile vocable. a handpicked audience received a haunting two lofi-acoustic piano ballad encore. fantastic handsome. so much heartiness. matchless! beyond words!

surprisingly i had the chance to meet their ambitous and eerily loveable manager jason thomas during the evening as well as the band. i feel honoured to had such a great night jason, as well as the other band members! many thanks for the extra time at the zapatas bar and the ebullient morning hours in the irish bar. we all tried to bear up. as well we tried to hold our beer level high. we cheered up! this night was definitive young, jason, richard, peter, michael, steve, glen and your band-own photograph!

we all can only hope that you are going to attract a great deal of attention for sure. pan-european probably. hopefully.

psst! insider tip from amiland...

...to all of you, who had been familiar to bandscheibenrecords from the beginning, the headline above were the first ever written words on our music blog. and for sure my very first band naming.

this as far as possible in europe unknown band still ranks among to my outstanding favorites. the brooklyn boys` still deliver narrowed unadjusted melodies. timothy lannen`s striking voice combines desperation and repressed irateness, reclines in some way piecewise out of it and hits mainly for this reason exactly melancholic music hearts. here something is build up, cared and appeased, but times blustered as well. music on a gut level!

yes! the diggs bring us back some new tune! fortunately no turnaround.

awake sleepwalking!

about 2 weeks backwards 2 musicians of great talent transformed already felicitous hours into memorable ones. an eerily powerful rattling mixture of storming 90ies-independent sounds commemorated exemplary bands which had their finger on the pulse at that time during an one hour stringent live set. this kind of unforced but for all that emotional charged north american indierock that modest mouse, sebadoh, pavement or quasi had been driven on then.

lead vocalist rudi maier, mark oliver everett`s soulmate demon, and his formidable drummer franz neugebauer generated a distinctive carriage and pair, called the dope, and took place at rocket club, la on october 23th. second guy bestrided his shooting gallery ad libitum and pumped needful force and spinal column into corpulent soundscapes. alongside he chiped in with alternating backing vocals if necessary.

from the very first an impulsive cliff-hanging, loud-voiced sound commanded their musical parquet. already the opener "old dogs" showed a complete high-level voice volume spectrum and the gamut of emotions. "ok babe", "strawberry chewing gum" and "prom queens (with high shoes)" took a similar line and followed the same route. within "den halder/seagulls don`t lie" the band evacuated pioneered paths for the first time. slow-going constructive music, more limited than before. rudi`s lyrics still have been rolling behind brilliant inerrable blurred melodic guitar accords. reality or vision? by all means moments of losing oneself. what beautiful dumpishness! or to say it with the band`s name: kind of pleasant intoxication. one of another best moments should deliver their most quietly song during this evening: "breakfast on an afternoon like this one". this piece of jewelry stopped all the clocks. while rudi maier has been snivelling his lyrical stories out to the world, while some electronic sound snippets have been hanging around the barrier and creeping aloft the ceiling, time seemed to be standing still. the only noise kept you awake has been a simple repetitive drum percussion, that nearly every few seconds kept one`s eyes peeled. awake sleepwalking! swaying magic!

please have a listen to a free downloadable strawberry chewing gum and "don`t tell me about the things you adore, tell me about the things to bore you"...

many special thanks to alexey! i have to keep in mind to mention the brilliant photograph snapshots above beside his commendable written sublime poetry "von der muse versetzt". buttoms up and keep on caring for credible & creative things!
