am i made of pieces of a broken hand?
am i beautiful or worthless?

like there ever was a difference
i will paint my face with lipstick
i will scar the clouds with kisses

nethers --- it`s an island
as many times a restrained & prevalent instrumental start-up. like an island around calm water...

foals --- spanish sahara
diggs in such an extent lovely way into doleful heartiness, before the sands fan you nearly insensible towards the end. charming heroic!

wintersleep --- lipstick
a wailful shiver of atrabiliousness tear hearts apart. behold the unbelieveable lyrics above...

dirtblonde --- stockholm syndrome
(alternatively download their hangman ep plus furthermore desirable output via last.fm
)
akin to "joy division" hypnotic symptoms creep out of nebulous sceneries. a short period of incubation for sure!

punk tv --- voices
ambitious predominant electronica sound carpets bewitches the senses. go on russia!

i heart hiroshima --- i feel it
chatters & crackles in the vein of" the vines" good old rock`n roll days

their love still burns...

if you watch robert levon beens` playing and handling, you may almost think he sometimes take along his vintage instruments in his bed-chamber. in such a way of soulful passion this unique man lives an loves his work. peter hayes, talented mastermind behind B.R.M.C.s`melodies, plus a new & fiery leah shapiro behind the shooting-gallery barely fewer. in short: these rebels from amiland have done their business very well akin to last time in munich narrow three years ago as expected. a bit over two hours the californian trio served authentic sound settings. times furious dashing onward, times slightly stereoscopic advanced backward, times intimate and face-to-face. sure enough: whether if wild & raw, psychedelic & room filling or restricted acoustic. all of them pluck up courage, pour out their grief to the audience that it virtually tears one`s heart apart. musical affection - perfect in from.

what ever happened to your rock`n roll, guys? your love still burns. immense. a flared fire. initial "red eyes and tears" fit one into each other in billowing spheres before some clap of guitar thunder priced the resonance in order to mark the start of rolling forward. in a similar way exemplary therefor the brand-new desert stomping title track which ended in a splendid fulminant chorus, within both protagonists throw their characteristic words to each other: "i bled the needle through, you beat the devil tattoo, i thread the needle through, you beat the devil’s tattoo!" while an "ain`t no easy way" overwhelmed oneself with its clamor of blues-punk and peters` psychedelic mouth organ, one or another might worry about an instruments`endurance, such forcibly they pasted them. a live version of "anabell lee" suplemented the piano ballad with more intensitiy ´cause of hayes` add on guitar accords it moved kind of more expansive. for the first encore when rob had a stand-alone sit down on one of his speaker boxes at the front of the stage and snivelled his lyrical stories out to the world, emotion nearly was a too fragile vocable. a sold out backstage audience receicved a two years no longer played "dirty old town" followed by a lofi-acoustic slightly elongated "sympathetic noose". fantastic handsome. so much heartiness. anyway nameless! occasional the most impressive of them all was a matchless performence of "half-state". this kind of mesmerizing monster fascinated speechless listeners for about ten minutes. outstanding state of trance! now the band wanted demand something special and shot a sound copulating "american x" afterwards like there were no tomorrow. fustian!

within a three track second encore headed by a stormy "spread your love", another new track was worthy of mention. "shadow`s keeper", a lasting several minutes guitar-hurricane-jam with rob playing his heart out in the audience concluded the hot-blooded part of the set. the formidable band closed a stunning evening with a brilliant arranged "open invitation". this hidden track from howl lp was engulfed by green laser spheres. atmosperic!

rob, peter & leah keep cool behind your rock`n roll!

i have to keep in mind to mention the brilliant photograph sequences above of "käthe dekoe" from the commendable online music magazine laxmag.de. buttoms up and keep on caring for credible music!

post nr. 100

this is post nr. 100 and as we will enjoy todays black rebel motorcycle club at the backstage werk in munich, I'll give you some impressions of the probably best rock'n roll band all over the world.

I'll kill you all with a six barrel shotgun
I'll kill you all with a six barrel shotgun, but I need you so
I turned my fingers from the trigger baby
I turned my fingers from the trigger 'cause I'm feeling lonesome
listen
She gave me love like a big fire
I only saw it once
She spread her love like a fever
She's bad, but not enough
listen

You want a part of me

You want the whole thing
You want to feel something more than I could ever bring
You want it badly
You want it tangled
I want to feel something more than I was strangled

I fell in love with the sweet sensation
I gave my heart to a simple chord
I gave my soul to a new religion
Whatever happened to you?
Whatever happened to our rock'n'roll?
listen
