video of the week(end)
looking for the debut of chicago based band california wives. in the meantime, we enjoy a rather old song. get more info here.
really nice one. with even greater film material framing. e.g. the retrospektive technique with a flickering picture quality.
i`m sure i have seen that before while having developing that band. the short film carries so much different emotions. i think it is more than only a music related video. it goes back in time when everthing was in its right place. it was a generation of people which seem to be satisfied with what they had, harmony and tradition took place more than ever. at least skin-deep! that`s all about art. the point of view of culture, society, fashion and things like that. stepping back a while like a time machine. the rather melancholic music fits that kind of `romantic` and idealistic status so well. i adore this a lot and i always enjoy this metaphoric eligible view of the world and as well a lot of art movies from that time slot... i think these way of thoughts increased since i`ve seen dcfc`s video imagination of coney island, a magical and daunting place together, that typified all ingredients i`ve talked above. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmdFRgHsNB0, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-q-27rj8hp8. save the past into present to last!!! maybe one of my philosopies of live...
