"i fell in love with the sweet sensation. i gave my heart to a simple chord. i gave my soul to a new religion. whatever happened to you? whatever happened to our rock'n'roll?"
back-to-back games among nba schedules are always a huge challenge for each sportsman. for this reason we also would like to bounce the music ball from coast to coast, so "LA
15" consits of a westside story line up as well and our straightforward paths follow artists with one-of-a-kind manual independent work. at times nice
slanting playful soundcapes covers a spectrum to bolding upbeat casual ones. back to the roots means partly back to a sun-dappledcoastline breeze!
once more i`d like to commemorate not only one of the punchiest female rock acts at present but also an extremely farseeing british video artist behind them, who has been familiar with electronic musicians like aphex twin and björk. chris cunningham, in marriage with warpaint`s bassist jenny lee lindberg, has filmed an as far as possible unknown documentary about warpaint and her self titled lp released in 2014. an excerpt out of it constitutes a short-cut music video from their single `love is to die`. as well as he has been responsible for warpaint`s cover artwork including four matched faces of each band members. eye-minded his footage seems very inspiring so far. indeed not really a huge surprise if you know the producing standard of the ladies` previous work. relaxed coolness!
personally one of the most captivating bands in currently rock genre put out some new tunes as forerunner of a series of tracks during 2015. firstly `no way out`, a form of self-contained nearly 8 minute dreamy psych-rock track formerly known as part of their live setting since last year has been recorded by themselves by now. along with it these la-based female quartet delivers `i`ll start believing`, a remarkably short track with more direct and immediate hallmarks. whether it`s not stretched out it’s still quintessentially warpaint with an intense and beguiling vein of angelic guitars underpinned by jenny lindberg`s pixiesk bass backbone, stella mozgawa`s tight-balanced drum sequences and theresa wayman`s echo-voiced harmonies. i`ll start believing in you...
for now it`s time to slow our december pace a little bit down as b.d.r.e.c.o.r.d.s decreases the dynamic rating. thus our side by side selection of well-known artists and new appearing and promising talents rings straightaway more cushioned than actually full-throated but nevertheless filled with value and hunting melodies. still a remedy against that moderate winter breeze while these days...
as i guaranteed you all a few days ago every coin has two sides, so "LA 14" consits of a westside story as well. after a couple of urban triphop mixed up with excellent electronica beat remixes we are going to follow our paths straightforward towards westcoast of more plain skilled manual work of exquisite artists which are always being located somewhere inside the quadrant of independent soundscapes. at times nice slanting playful and smooth stirring other times like a roaring warped slap-bang. back to the roots means partly back to a sun-dappled la!
LA 14´´ lp | part two WESTside 10´ ep |W| intro | bees / warpaint
this four piece la-dies from warpaint have taken in such an extent a shine to us. their artistry appearance reflects not only in a fantastic cover rework. it is more their unique expression being such passionate about music things in general. within a rising up live performance they are able to give an energetic impression of being full of lust for life and subtle dynamics together. on the basis of a stripped down version and an even more impulsive electric performance warpaint`s evergreen `undertow` fixes all the range of nascent talents on their mission. paint munich town red very soon!
these individualistic la-based females really paint the town red! nearly for ten years exactely. warpaint serve up some kind of music on a plate, where its energy circulate rather undercover, but being in the mood indeed it will be able to knock so.`s socks off. unagitated attraction far from targeted effects benefits their interplay between burbling melodies and interwoven vocal parts always a little lost in reverie. very distinct, very spherical, very soul-affecting and very worthy of live-visit while their forthcoming tour in europe in late 2013 and early 2014. let us altogether snap at the chance!
